Description
This sealed Crystal Quest inline cartridge is a dedicated point-of-use stage for inorganic fluoride in municipal water. Its Calcium GAC (bone char) media is 70% to 76% hydroxyapatite, which takes up fluoride and holds it as fluorapatite.
Highlights
- Bone char media targets inorganic fluoride through ion exchange and precipitation
- Carbon content adds adsorption of some dissolved organic and colored compounds
- Sealed inline design is replaced as one piece, with no housing to open
- Threaded elbow connectors and a flow arrow on the label simplify installation
- Works before or after a point-of-use RO system, or on a water cooler or ice maker line
- Available as a single cartridge or in packs of 2 or 4
Details
Avermont Direct is an authorized Crystal Quest dealer. Fluoride reaches tap water through municipal addition and through natural erosion of mineral deposits. Flush a new cartridge with cold water for about 15 minutes before first use, following the flow arrow on the label. Crystal Quest builds it under ISO 9001 quality management.

- Media is animal-derived, made by calcining cattle bones
- Fluoride uptake is highest in slightly acidic to neutral water and drops as pH rises; run at rated flow for adequate contact time
- Reduction of heavy metals such as lead and of organic compounds is not separately rated for this cartridge
- Not designed to treat bacteria, viruses, nitrate, hardness or dissolved solids, and not a dedicated chlorine or taste stage; pair with a SMART inline cartridge for that
- Installs inline on supply tubing; it is not a slot-in replacement for a refrigerator's built-in filter
- No fixed replacement interval is published; life depends on incoming fluoride level and water use, so test treated water
- Cartridge color may change without notice
