Description
The Crystal Quest Tannin Whole House Water Filter connects to the main line and treats all incoming water with a tannin-reducing mineral tank. It self-backwashes, flushing captured tannins to the drain, and handles up to 5 ppm tannins.

- Microprocessor control valve meters water use and starts backwash automatically after a set number of gallons
- 1.5 or 2.0 cubic feet of media, rated for 1,000,000 or 1,500,000 gallons
- Optional SMART filter adds catalytic and standard coconut shell GAC, redox alloys, and ion exchange resin
- Optional softener addresses the added hardness the media may cause and reduces limescale

Avermont Direct is an authorized Crystal Quest dealer. This system is suited to homes where testing has shown tannins, with combined iron and manganese below 0.2 ppm. Larger media volumes give higher gallon capacity and service flow.

- Requires a nearby power outlet for the control valve
- Requires sodium or potassium pellets in the brine tank
- Replacement items: Eaglesorb Tannin Removal Media (CQE-RM-05003), SMART Multimedia (CQE-RM-05017), Eaglesorb softener media (CQE-RM-05002), sediment cartridge (CQE-RC-04015), carbon block cartridge (CQE-RC-04014)
- A vacuum breaker installed inline ahead of the system is recommended to guard against negative pressure in the water line
- Stainless steel tanks can develop pinholes or rust in high humidity, around salt, or if condensation is not wiped off; fiberglass is recommended in those conditions
Shipping
- Orders of $200 or more ship free within the contiguous United States. Orders under $200 ship for a flat $9.99.
- In-stock items (shown as “In Stock” on the product page) ordered before 1:00 PM Pacific Time on a business day typically ship within 1–3 business days. Delivery usually takes 3–7 business days after shipping.
- Backorder, Partial Backorder and Custom Order items are not covered by the 1–3 business day processing time. Their estimated restock or ship time is shown in the stock status on the product page before you order.
- Large items ship by freight and are typically delivered curbside. Smaller items ship by ground carrier such as FedEx or UPS.
- We ship to the 48 contiguous states. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii or P.O. boxes.
- Please inspect your delivery on arrival and report any concealed damage or missing parts within 24 hours.
Returns
- Returns can be requested within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, uninstalled, in new resalable condition and in their original packaging, including the pallet if delivered on one.
- Approved returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee, and return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the return is the result of our error.
- Installed or used products, custom and made-to-order items, clearance or final-sale items, and replacement parts and accessories are not eligible for return.
