Description
This Crystal Quest cartridge combines Calcium GAC (bone char) with SMART multimedia to target inorganic fluoride in municipal water along with chlorine taste and odor. Fluoride binds to the hydroxyapatite in the bone char and forms fluorapatite, and four sizes cover flows from 0.5 to 6 GPM.
Highlights
- Calcium GAC (bone char) targets inorganic fluoride through ion exchange and precipitation
- Coconut shell GAC reduces chlorine, taste, odor and organic chemicals
- ERA 6500 redox media targets chlorine, and ERA 9500 targets ferrous iron and hydrogen sulfide
- Two 1-micron pads hold the media in place and catch fine particles
- Interchangeable with the SMART + Aluminum Oxide Fluoride Reduction Filter Cartridge
- Size and part number are printed on the label for easy reordering
Details
Avermont Direct is an authorized Crystal Quest dealer. Bone char performs well in neutral to slightly acidic water, and a slower flow gives the media more contact time. Standard SMART positions, reverse osmosis pre-filters and whole house RO stages normally take a standard SMART cartridge unless the system calls for this combination. The cartridge is built in the USA under ISO 9001 quality management.
