Description
High concentrations of silica, especially colloidal and reactive forms, can scale pipes, damage filtration equipment, and etch glass. The Crystal Quest Silica Whole House Water Filter uses Trapp XT media, made of 99.99% pure magnesium oxide beads, to capture silica by adsorption and ion exchange at the point where water enters the home.

Details
Avermont Direct is an authorized Crystal Quest dealer. This system is suited to homes where testing has shown elevated silica and whole-house treatment is preferred. Because the Trapp XT media may increase hardness, the softener configurations are recommended for most installations.

- SMART filter option: two types of coconut shell GAC (one catalytic), Eagle Redox Alloys 9500 and 6500, anion exchange resin, and ceramic and tourmaline balls; reduces heavy metals, chlorine, chloramine, pesticides, herbicides, and pharmaceutical and petroleum by-products
- Softener option: ion exchange resin with brine regeneration; recommended because the silica media may increase water hardness
- Replacement items: Trapp XT media, Eagle Redox Alloys 6500 and 9500, sediment cartridge 2-7/8" x 20" (CQE-RC-04015), carbon block cartridge 2-7/8" x 20" (CQE-RC-04014)
- Stainless steel tanks can develop pinholes or rust in high humidity, around salt, or if condensation is not wiped down; fiberglass is recommended in these conditions
- Optional add-ons offered separately: 12 GPM UV water sterilizer, leak detector valve, vacuum breaker
Shipping
- Orders of $200 or more ship free within the contiguous United States. Orders under $200 ship for a flat $9.99.
- In-stock items (shown as “In Stock” on the product page) ordered before 1:00 PM Pacific Time on a business day typically ship within 1–3 business days. Delivery usually takes 3–7 business days after shipping.
- Backorder, Partial Backorder and Custom Order items are not covered by the 1–3 business day processing time. Their estimated restock or ship time is shown in the stock status on the product page before you order.
- Large items ship by freight and are typically delivered curbside. Smaller items ship by ground carrier such as FedEx or UPS.
- We ship to the 48 contiguous states. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii or P.O. boxes.
- Please inspect your delivery on arrival and report any concealed damage or missing parts within 24 hours.
Returns
- Returns can be requested within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, uninstalled, in new resalable condition and in their original packaging, including the pallet if delivered on one.
- Approved returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee, and return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the return is the result of our error.
- Installed or used products, custom and made-to-order items, clearance or final-sale items, and replacement parts and accessories are not eligible for return.
