The Fluoride Removal + SMART Single Cartridge Countertop Water Filter System filters water through 7 stages, including a fluoride removal media stage containing Fluoride Charcoal Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC), unless Aluminum Oxide is requested, rated for approximately 2,700 ppm fluoride (average 1,000–1,500 gallons).

- Stages 1 & 7: pre/post one-micron filter pads remove suspended particles such as silt, sediment, cysts (Giardia, Cryptosporidium), sand, rust, and dirt
- Stage 2: fluoride removal media has a high affinity for fluoride, lead, and arsenic, removing them via adsorption and chemical reaction; capacity approximately 2,700 ppm fluoride (avg. 1,000–1,500 gallons), and up to 11,000 ppm F+ with effluent below 0.2 ppm from a 10 ppm F+ feed
- Stage 4: ion exchange resins reduce heavy metals such as lead, copper, aluminum, and water hardness
- Stages 3 & 5: Eagle Redox Alloy media (ERA-6500 & ERA-9500) oxidize chlorine through an electrochemical, spontaneous-oxidation-reduction process
- Stage 6: granulated activated carbon (a coconut shell and catalytic GAC blend) adsorbs chlorine, chloramine byproducts, pesticides, herbicides, and VOCs
- Diverter valve switches between filtered and unfiltered water; sits on the counter and connects to any kitchen faucet
