Description
The Crystal Quest Calcium GAC Fluoride Reduction Filter Cartridge uses granular bone char, a hydroxyapatite media, to reduce inorganic fluoride in municipal water. It comes in four standard housing sizes, with estimated fluoride capacity from 4,500 ppm to 15,000 ppm depending on size.
Highlights
- Bone char media binds fluoride through ion exchange on hydroxyapatite, forming fluorapatite
- Four sizes fit standard 2.5" x 10", 2.5" x 20", 5" x 10" Big Blue and 5" x 20" Big Blue housings
- Rated flow from 0.5 GPM to 6 GPM, so you can match the cartridge to your housing and demand
- Works alone, after a SMART cartridge, or as the last stage after a carbon block and SMART
- Available as a single cartridge or in packs of 2 or 4 for scheduled changes
Details
Avermont Direct is an authorized Crystal Quest dealer. There is no fixed replacement interval for this cartridge; test your treated water and replace the cartridge when fluoride levels begin to rise. The label shows flow direction, part number and replacement steps, and Crystal Quest manufactures under ISO 9001 quality management.

- *Capacity is an estimate that depends on incoming contaminants and usage, rated at hardness below 100 ppm
- Fluoride uptake is highest in slightly acidic water near pH 6 and decreases as pH rises
- Designed for inorganic fluoride in municipal water; for well water, natural sources or organic fluoride, contact our team before ordering
- Not a dedicated stage for nitrate, hardness, chlorine or chemical tastes; use only on microbiologically safe water
- Animal-derived media (not vegan); an aluminum oxide fluoride cartridge is available as a non-animal alternative
- Run water 5 to 10 minutes before first use
