Description
Crystal Quest Calcite is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate filter media that raises the pH of acidic water. Acidic water slowly dissolves the media, which reduces leaching of copper, lead and other metals from typical plumbing.
Highlights
- Raises the pH of acidic water as it slowly dissolves
- Self-limiting: raises pH only until water reaches a non-corrosive equilibrium
- Helps reduce leaching of copper, lead and other metals from plumbing
- Periodic backwashing keeps the bed from packing and maintains service rates
- Sold in 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2 cubic foot sizes
Details
Avermont Direct is an authorized Crystal Quest dealer. Calcite is used in neutralizing filters for homes and buildings with acidic water. Plan to top up the bed periodically, since the media is consumed as it raises pH.
