Description
This Crystal Quest cartridge is filled with activated alumina, a synthetic crystalline aluminum oxide that reduces inorganic fluoride in municipal water by adsorption and chemical reaction. It also reduces arsenic and lead, and comes in four sizes rated from 0.5 to 6 GPM.
Highlights
- Activated alumina media targets inorganic fluoride in city water
- Also reduces arsenic and lead in the same pass
- Mineral media with no salt and no regeneration, so there is nothing to recharge
- Low-swell granules with minimal fines help keep pressure loss low
- Four sizes fit standard 10" and 20" slim housings and Big Blue housings
Details
Avermont Direct is an authorized Crystal Quest dealer. The 2-7/8" x 9-3/4" size is used as a fluoride stage in countertop and under-sink systems alongside carbon or SMART stages, while the 20" and Big Blue sizes serve whole house systems. Media life depends on incoming fluoride, pH, flow and usage, so periodic testing of treated water is the way to time replacement.

- On chlorinated city water, use with a carbon or SMART stage ahead of this cartridge
- Fluoride capacity decreases as pH rises; slower flow gives more contact time
- Arsenic and lead reduction has no separate capacity rating
- Not designed to treat bacteria, viruses, nitrate or hardness, and not a dedicated chlorine or taste stage; use only on microbiologically safe water
- Not intended for organic fluoride or naturally occurring well water fluoride without consulting a specialist
- Interchangeable with the Crystal Quest Calcium GAC (bone char) fluoride cartridge
- Made in the USA under ISO 9001 quality management
